Sweeps Lesson Series for Circle of 5ths Lead

Playing Pan brings about some unique technical challenges that we don’t often find with other percussion instruments.  You cannot navigate around the instrument easily without having to at least double your right or left hands, even while playing a simple major scale.  The following 6 part lesson series addresses this technique, which I refer to as the “sweep.”  Click on the links below for PDF versions of each lesson.  I’ve also written four etudes that address this technique, called “The Directional Suite.”  These etudes are suitable for recitals, concerts, or just to practice and use as exercises.  Contact Pan Ramajay Productions for more information.  Also, if you haven’t done it yet, sign up for my newsletter and I’ll send you a link for a free download of an additional lesson and material to go along with my Steel Pan Lessons on this site.
